ELON -- The Elon women's basketball team heads on the road Wednesday night for a midweek matchup at UNCG. Tipoff between the Phoenix (3-6) and the Spartans (6-5) is set for 7 p.m. ET in Greensboro.

- This will be the 50th all-time meeting between the Phoenix and the Spartans, dating back to 1972. The teams last met on Dec. 10, 2023, at the Greensboro Coliseum, where Elon fell 52-47.

1. Narrow Defeat Against Lancers
- Elon erased deficits throughout the afternoon but narrowly fell to Longwood, 67-66, in a tightly contested matchup Sunday.
- Ashlee Shaw and Tamia Watkins made their first collegiate starts, while Ruby Willard made her first start of the season, joining Maraja Pass and Tyana Walker.
- LaNae' Corbett led the Phoenix in scoring for the sixth time this season, finishing with a team-high 17 points.
- Shaw recorded her first career double-figure scoring performance, contributing 14 points.
- Watkins, Shaw, and Walker shared team-high rebounding honors with six boards apiece.
- Pass tied her season high with five assists to pace the offense.
- Pass and Watkins collected three steals each, tying and setting season highs, respectively.
- Nine of the 11 Phoenix players who appeared in the game scored at least two points.
- Elon limited Longwood to 22% shooting from three-point range (4-of-18), marking the sixth time this season the Phoenix have held an opponent below 25% from beyond the arc.

- Elon is a top-25 team nationally in three-point percentage defense, limiting its opponents to just 25.1% shooting from beyond the arc.

3. Strong Inside, Been Here Before
- Quinzia Fulmore, a graduate transfer, and Corbett, a sophomore transfer, have played in the CAA before, providing the Phoenix with an experience boost among their newcomers.
- Fulmore is a powerhouse inside and continues to lead the Phoenix on the boards with 5.8 rebounds per game, which ranks 16th in the CAA. She is also tied for 15th in the CAA in blocks per game (0.7).
- Corbett leads the Phoenix offense with six double-figure scoring games this season while averaging a team-high 10.3 PPG, ranking 25th in the league.
- The duo led the team in scoring at Georgetown on Nov. 24, both scoring in double figures for a combined 22 points.
- Corbett is eighth in the conference in field goal percentage at 44.3% and is also tied for 21st in the CAA, averaging 1.3 steals per game.
- At East Carolina (Dec. 7), Corbett led the team with 13 points, shooting 50% (5-for-10) from the field, while Fulmore reached double figures in rebounds for the first time this season, leading the team with 10.
- Corbett led the team for the fourth time this season in scoring with a season-high 17 points on 67% shooting (8-for-12) against Longwood.
4. Walker In Motion
- Tyana Walker joins Corbett and Fulmore as a transfer on the Elon roster after spending her last two seasons at Howard, where she was named 2024 MEAC Rookie of the Year and was selected to the All-Rookie Team.
- Walker scored a season-best 22 points to lead the Phoenix in a loss against Tulane on Nov. 27 at the Paradise Jam, shooting 50% (8-for-16) from the floor and 67% (6-for-9) from the three-point line. She was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Harbor Division at Paradise Jam.
- Walker nearly notched a double-double in the season opener at ETSU, finishing with nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
- She leads the team with 14 made three-pointers, tying for 12th in the conference, and averages 1.6 per game. She also ranks 11th in the conference in three-point percentage (32.6%).
5. Pass = Two-Way Impact
- Maraja Pass has been a steady two-way presence for the Phoenix this season, leading the team in assists and steals.
- Pass ranks tied for 10th in the conference in assists per game (3.0), including a season-high five assists on four occasions.
- Pass sits third in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9).
- She leads the Phoenix and ranks tied for 12th in the conference in steals per game (1.6).
