ELON, N.C. — The No. 6 seed Elon women's basketball team (15-14, 9-9 CAA) is set to begin play in the 2025 Credit Union 1 CAA Women's Basketball Championship, facing No. 11 Towson (11-19, 9-10 CAA). Tip-off is scheduled for Thursday, March 13, at 8:30 p.m. at CareFirst Arena in Washington, D.C.

SERIES HISTORY
- The Phoenix leads the all-time series against Towson, 10-7.

LAST TIME OUT
- Elon went 1-1 in the final CAA regular season weekend, falling at Northeastern before bouncing back with a 70-54 victory over Monmouth.
- Ava Leroux led the Phoenix in scoring against the Huskies with seven points, while Iycez Adams paced the team on the boards with nine rebounds and four steals, matching her career high.
- Raven Preston led the team with 20 points against Monmouth, marking her third 20-point performance of the season, while securing her eighth double-double with 12 rebounds.

POSTSEASON PRAISE
- Jayda Angel was named CAA Rookie of the Year and Sixth Player of the Year, while Raven Preston was recognized as the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned a spot on the All-CAA Second Team.
- Angel becomes the first player in Elon program history to earn both CAA Rookie of the Year and Sixth Player of the Year in the same season. She is also the first player in the CAA to win Rookie of the Year and another major award in the same season since Elena Delle Donne in 2010.
- She led the team in scoring off the bench eight times this season and posted 13 double-figure scoring performances.
- Angel leads all CAA rookies in steals per game (1.8) and ranks second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.0 points per game.
- Preston is just the second player in Elon women's basketball history to be named CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
- Preston has maintained a 3.847 GPA while earning multiple academic honors, including five selections to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, three Dean's List honors, and two President's List recognitions.
- On the court, Preston has started all 29 games this season, leading the team in scoring 12 times and in rebounding 20 times.
- The Greensboro, N.C., native paced Elon with 12.2 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game, and 1.9 steals per game – all of which rank in the top 15 in the CAA. She has recorded 18 double-figure scoring performances and a team-high eight double-doubles this season.
ELON IN THE CAA
- Raven Preston ranks fourth in the CAA in rebounds per game (8.5), tied for seventh in steals per game (1.9), and 13th in points per game (12.2).
- Iycez Adams sits sixth in the conference in blocks per game (1.3).
- As a team, Elon ranks third in the CAA in steals per game (9.24) and offensive rebounds per game (13.1).
- The Phoenix is one of only two teams in the conference to record double-digit blocks in a game this season.
SCOUTING NO. 11 TOWSON
- Towson ended the regular season with a 10-19 overall record and an 8-10 mark in conference play, finishing 11th in the league.
- The Tigers defeated No. 14 Northeastern in the first round of the 2025 Credit Union 1 CAA Women's Basketball Championship 67-44, with Anasia Staton leading the team with 14 points.
- The Tigers finished last season with a 20-11 overall record and an 11-7 mark in the CAA, placing sixth before falling to Drexel in the CAA Quarterfinals.
- Towson was projected to finish third in the conference this season, receiving one first-place vote.
- Patricia Anumgba earned All-CAA Preseason First Team honors but suffered a season-ending injury earlier this season.
- Three Towson players average double figures: India Johnson (12.0), Anasia Staton (11.2), and Khady Leye (10.1).
- Leye, an All-CAA Rookie Team selection, leads the team with 7.1 rebounds per game and earned four CAA Rookie of the Week honors.
- Shariah Baynes averages a team-best 2.6 assists per game, while Kayla Morris leads the team with 32 blocks.
