GREENSBORO, GA. – The Elon University men's golf team sits in sixth place after the opening round of the Linger Longer Invitational.
As a team, Elon posted a first-round total of 285 (-3), while Georgia leads the field with a 17-under par 271.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Landon Durham, Garrett Risner, and Jack Wieler led the Phoenix with a 1-under par 71, tying for 24th place. Durham tied for the team lead with five birdies, while Wieler recorded a team-best 16 pars. Risner shot a bogey-free back nine, highlighted by two birdies.
- Bronson Myers carded an even-par 72 to tie for 33rd place, also matching the team lead with five birdies.
- Matthew Doyle is tied for 54th place after shooting a 74 (+2) in his opening round.
