CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Sophomore Jack Wieler fired Elon's best round of the tournament with a 4-under-par 66 to earn runner-up honors and help lead the Phoenix to a second-place team finish at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate.

Elon recorded the field's lowest team round on the final day with an 8-under-par 272, bringing its 54-hole total to even-par 840 — just one stroke behind tournament champion North Carolina.

HIGHLIGHTS  

• Jack Wieler climbed nine spots on the individual leaderboard after carding a 66 in his final round, highlighted by five birdies, to place second overall. He led the team in birdies (14) and par-4 scoring average (3.90).
• Garrett Risner made the biggest individual jump, moving up 14 spots after a final-round 67 (-3) to tie for eighth. He shared the team lead in par-5 scoring average (4.33) and total pars (35).
• Juan Callejo Ropero posted an even-par 70 in the final round to finish tied for 10th. He led the team in par-3 scoring average (3.07).
• Matthew Doyle carded a tournament-low 69 in the final round, climbing nine spots to finish tied for 13th.
• Landon Durham posted a 1-over-par 71 in the final round, finishing tied for 19th with a 54-hole total of 216 (+6).
• Competing as an individual, Bronson Myers finished 74th with an 18-over-par 228.
• As a team, Elon led the field in birdies (54), tied for first in par-4 scoring average (4.07), and ranked second in par-5 scoring average (4.51).

• The Phoenix will compete at the 2025 CAA Championship at the Union League Golf Club in Swainton, N.J., on April 19-21.
