Juan Callejo Ropero and
Garrett Risner are leading the team tied for fifth, helping Elon sit in fourth place after round one of the 2025 CAA Championship.
Elon recorded a 295 (+7) in round one, just three strokes behind Campbell and Delaware, who share the field lead at 4-over-par 292.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Juan Callejo Ropero and Garrett Risner paced the Phoenix after round one with an even-par 72 to both tie for fifth. Callejo Ropero carded 12 pars and four birdies, while Risner leads the team and is tied for second in the field in par-5 scoring average (4.25).
- Jack Wieler is tied for 12th place after a 2-over-par 74 in round one that included a team-high and field-high-tying 13 pars. He also paces the team in par-4 scoring average at 3.90.
- Landon Durham posted a 5-over-par 77 in his opening round, carding six birdies on his last seven holes to lead the team in birdies and is tied for 28th place.
- Matthew Doyle carded an opening round of 79 that included two birdies and nine pars to tie for 31st place.
