ELON – Elon assistant coach
Courtney Eldridge was named among the nation's top 100 most impactful mid-major men's basketball assistant coaches, Silver Waves Media announced Monday.
Â
Eldridge is in his first season assisting head coach
Billy Taylor at Elon, having joined the program last July. The veteran collegiate coach has made an immediate impact on the Phoenix, which ranks among the top two in the Coastal Athletic Association in eight different offensive categories, including scoring offense (86.7 points per game).
Â
Eldridge was one of just three staff members from the CAA to make the top 100.
The full list can be viewed on silverwavesmedia.com.
Â
Eldridge spent the previous 10 seasons on the Iowa men's basketball staff, serving as an assistant coach from 2022-25 following stints as the program's director of recruiting and player development (2020-22) and video coordinator (2017-19).
Â
Eldridge played basketball at UNCG – he's one of three Spartans to have their jersey retired – from 1998-2002, followed by a 12-year professional career in Brazil, Poland, Italy, Belarus, Turkey and the Dominican Republic. In addition to working men's basketball youth camps, he was a high school boys basketball coach at East Boston High School and Saint Joseph Prep School in Brighton, Massachusetts.
