RADFORD, VA - Jayme Chikos scored a career high 26 points, including four three-point field goals as the Fightin' Christians completed the season sweep of Radford capturing a 61-43, win over the Highlanders Saturday in the Dedmon Center.
Along with her 26 points Chikos amassed five assists, seven steals and a blocked shot as Elon improves to 12-12 overall and 5-6 in the Big South. Radford drops to 10-15, 8-4.
Freshman Anestha Blakeney posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds as junior Loretta Lawson scored seven points in the win.
Both teams struggled offensively in the first half, but the Fightin' Christians used a late surge to take a 25-18 lead into the break.
Leading 29-22, with 18:10 left in the contest, Elon used a 13-3 run to take a 42-25 lead and control of the game. Chikos scored five points on a pair of free throws and a three-pointer to spark the run.
Jennifer Grant led the Highlanders with 11 points while Kylie Williamson recorded 10 in the loss.
Freshman Erin Green collected nine points and Jami White, Shellie Johnson and Mariam McLeod each posted two points. Tashina DeVeaux grabbed eight rebounds for the Fightin' Christians.
