SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Elon University women's basketball player Brianne Gray was named to the Preseason All-Southern Conference Team on Monday at the league's annual tip-off ceremonies.

Gray, a senior forward from Dunkirk, Md., averaged 8.3 points and 7.0 rebounds while blocking 22 shots in her junior campaign with the Phoenix. In 2003-04 she notched five double-doubles, highlighted by her 14-point, career-high 17-rebound performance in Elon's win at Western Carolina.

In a poll of the league's coaches, the Phoenix was picked to finish eighth in the 11-team league. Elon was also picked eighth by the media.
