Elon Renews Rivalry with UNC Asheville on Monday

ELON, N.C. – Looking to bounce back from its loss to Samford, the Elon women’s basketball team will step out of Southern Conference play to face UNC Asheville at 2:30 p.m., on Monday afternoon. The contest will be the first between the schools since 2003 when Elon was a member of the Big South. Elon leads the all-time series 10-4 and has won the past seven meetings. This will be the final game before the Phoenix breaks for the holidays.

Elon Quick Notes
• For the second straight game, Elon was below its season average of 24.7 turnovers per game, only turning the ball over 15 times against Samford on Saturday. Elon converted 20 Bulldog turnovers into 25 points.
Ali Ford scored a game-high 25 points against Samford on Saturday. It was also a season- best for the freshman out of Morganton, N.C. Her previous season high was 23 points.
• The last time the teams faced off on the hardwood was in 2003 when Elon was still a member of the Big South Conference. Elon won the meeting, 61-44. Elon has averaged 70.2 points per game in the last seven games against UNCA. Elon is 4-0 when it scores at least 70 points this season.
