HOUSTON – Elon women's basketball assistant coach Cristy McKinney was inducted into the Rice Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Oct. 25. McKinney is Rice's all-time coaching wins leader and earned a 216-138 record during her 12 seasons with the Owls.
 
In 2004-05, her final season at Rice, McKinney led the Owls to the Western Athletic Association title and a 24-9 record, earning WAC Coach of the Year accolades. In all, McKinney led the Owls to six 20-win seasons, two NCAA Tournament appearances, four WNIT appearances and two WAC titles.
 
McKinney was inducted into the hall of fame in a ceremony that included four other members and the school's 2003 baseball team. She is currently in her third season with the Phoenix program.
