One of the youngest women's basketball teams in the nation in 2017-18, defending CAA champion Elon University welcomed six freshmen to the program over the summer. Take some time to get to know the newcomers with a six-part series that helps you get to know a little more about the six new players fans will watch throughout Elon's final season in Alumni Gym this year. First up in the series is a 6-1 forward from Loughborough, England, Anna Popovic!

Why did you choose Elon?
"I chose Elon because I fell in love with the team and the coaching staff and the whole environment and feel of the campus."

What are your favorite colors?
"My favorite colors are khaki green and baby pink."

How many languages do you know?
"I know two languages. I speak Serbian and English."

What is your favorite TV show?
"My favorite TV show is How to Get Away with Murder."

What are the main differences between American English and British English?
"The two main differences between British English and American English is first of all, you guys extend all your words and the other thing is I don't say my T's and you say your T's."

Who is your favorite professional athlete?
"My favorite professional athlete has got to be Usain Bolt."

Who is your biggest role model?
"I've got two role models. I've got my parents."

What is your go-to joke in an awkward situation?
"Why did the banana cross the road? Because it wasn't peeling well."

Season tickets for the 2017-18 campaign, the final season in Alumni Gym, are on sale now through the Elon Ticket Office.
