ELON, N.C.— Elon women's basketball will be back on the road for a 6 p.m. matchup at Richmond on Thursday, Nov. 18.

THE MATCHUP
-This will be the second matchup between the two teams.
-The first meeting took place over 40 years ago on Jan. 26, 1980. Elon won the game 101-60.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
-The Phoenix defeated Howard in its home opener on Nov. 15, 60-44.
-With the maroon and gold holding a two-point advantage going into the fourth quarter, Elon outscored the Bison 28-14 to secure the 16-point win.

Ariana Nance led the Elon offense with a career-high 13 points. The senior also shot 5-of-12 from the field, matching her personal best.

Evonna McGill was the other double-digit scorer for Elon. The center totaled 10 points in addition to posting two steals, one assist, seven rebounds and four blocks for a new career high.

Kayla Liles finished just one point shy of a double-double, recording a team-high 10 rebounds and nine points on the night. All of her points came from beyond the arc.
-Elon was picked to place sixth in the Colonial Athletic Association preseason poll.
Brie Perpignan was also named All-CAA honorable mention.

Charlotte Smith is in her 11th season as head coach. Her coaching record at Elon currently stands at 171-130, just two wins away from breaking the program record for all-time wins.
SCOUTING RICHMOND
-Richmond comes into the game with a 1-1 record.
-The Spiders registered its first win of the season on Nov. 13 when it defeated Hampton 96-47.
-Kate Klimkiewicz and Siobhan Ryan paced the Spider offense with 16 points apiece, with Emma Squires and Sydney Boone following with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Kylee Lewandowski also posted a career-high 11 rebounds.
-The Spiders were picked to finish seventh in the A10 preseason poll. Klimkiewicz was tabbed all-conference second team.
-The head coach of Richmond is Aaron Roussell.
