ELON, N.C.-- Elon women's basketball will take on NC Central in a 7 p.m. matchup inside Schar Center on Monday, Nov. 29.

THE MATCHUP
-Elon leads the overall series, 14-1.
-The Phoenix won the last meeting (83-54), which took place on Nov. 13, 2018.
-NCCU'S only win took place in the first game between the two teams on Feb. 1, 1972 (42-45).
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
-Elon suffered its first loss of the season on Nov. 26 as it fell to top-ranked South Carolina, 38-79. The Gamecocks came into the game ranked No. 1 in the nation by the Associated Press.
-Nance once again led the maroon and gold offense, posting a game-high 13 points. The redshirt senior has now led the team in scoring in back-to-back games. The guard previously recorded a career-high 19 points in Elon's last game against N.C. A&T.

Brie Perpignan and
Kayla Liles rounded out the top three in scoring, registering eight and six points, respectively. Perpignan also had a team-high two assists, while Liles tied
Tyja Traore for the team best in rebounds (5).
-On defense, Traore matched her career high in blocks (2), while
Vanessa Taylor and Nance each posted a steal.
-The Phoenix is led by 11

SCOUTING NC CENTRAL
-NC Central has yet to win a game this season (0-5), recording losses against Illinois (56-73), Appalachian State (66-80), Virginia Commonwealth (37-66), Nebraska (58-113) and James Madison (54-77).
-In its most recent game against the Dukes, Diamond Thomas led the NCCU scoring with 18 points, followed by Necole Hope (17) and Tianna Carter (10). Hope also paced the Eagles in rebounds (7).
-NC Central was predicted to finish fourth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference preseason poll. Hope was tabbed preseason all-conference third team.
-The head coach of NC Central is Trisha Stafford-Odom.
