ELON, N.C.—Elon women's basketball will be facing Drexel in the quarterfinal round of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship presented by Sonabank on Thursday, March 11 at 9:30 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
-The Dragons lead the overall series, 10-5.
-Elon split the regular-season series against Drexel (1-1), outlasting the Dragons 59-57 on Jan. 23 prior to coming up short on Jan. 24, 55-44.
SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
-Elon holds a 7-5 (3-5 CAA) record on the season, entering the championship as the six seed.
-The Phoenix suffered its lone CAA weekend sweep of the season on Feb. 7 as it fell to James Madison in its second of two matchups, 67-54.

Evonna McGill and
Brie Perpignan led the Phoenix offense with 14 points apiece, combining for 11 field goals on the day. McGill also paced the Phoenix in rebounds (7), while Perpignan tied
Saadia Munford in assists (3).

Ariana Nance posted a game-best three steals to tie her career high. Perpignan followed with two, just one short of her season high, in addition to tying her personal best in blocks (2).
SCOUTING DREXEL
-Drexel comes into the championship with an 11-8 (8-6 CAA) regular-season record, earning the three seed in the conference championship.
-The Dragons split their final regular-season weekend series against James Madison on Feb. 27 and 28. Drexel came out on top against the Dukes 51-48 before coming up short in game two, 61-51.
-The CAA announced on March 9 that Hannah Nihill earned the CAA Defensive Player of the Year Award, becoming the first-ever Dragon earn the honor. Nihill also received the Dean Ehlers Leadership Award and was named a First Team All-CAA selection. She was joined by Keishana Washington, who was tabbed All-CAA Third Team.
