ELON, N.C.-- Elon women's basketball will have three games this week, hosting UNCW on Wednesday, Feb. 23 prior to traveling to Delaware and Drexel on Feb. 25 & 27.

THE MATCHUP
-The Phoenix owns a 14-7 all-time record against the Seahawks, winning the past three matchups.
-The series between Elon and Delaware is tied at eight.
-Drexel leads the overall series, 12-5.

SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
-The Phoenix is on a four-game win streak (14-9, 6-7 CAA), capturing a 78-65 victory over Northeastern on Senior Day in its last game on Sunday, Feb. 20. The win snapped a four-game losing streak against the Huskies, which dated back to the 2018-19 season.
-Brie Perpignan, Evonna McGill and Kayla Liles all finished with 18 points to pace the Elon scoring. This marks the third straight game that three Elon players ended with double-digit points. McGill's points were also just one shy of her career high.
-Liles tallied her second double-double of the season, registering 18 points and 10 rebounds. The senior also set a new season high for assists (7) to lead both teams alongside Perpignan.
-Peyton Carter tallied seven points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.
-Vanessa Taylor totaled three steals on the day to match her career high.
-Tyja Traore finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
-The maroon and gold is led by 11th-year head coach Charlotte Smith, the winningest coach in program history.

SCOUTING UNCW
-UNCW (3-21, 0-14 CAA) comes into the game on a 14-game losing streak.
-The Seahawks fell to James Madison by a 22-point margin on the road in its last game on Feb. 20 (51-73). Dejah Carter scored 10 of her team-high 14 points in the second half.
-Asia Henderson paced the team in both rebounds (6) and steals (4), while Allie Best recorded a team-best six assists.
-UNCW is currently third in the conference in percentage from deep (.314) and tied for third in free throw percentage (.745).
-The Seahawks were tabbed ninth in the CAA preseason poll.
-UNCW is led by interim head coach Tina Martin.

SCOUTING DELAWARE
-Delaware (18-6, 12-2 CAA) has won eight of its past nine games, with its loss coming against Drexel in its previous game on Feb. 20 (64-65).
-Jasmine Dickey led the Blue Hens with 22 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for her 12th double-double of the season, while Ty Battle followed with 19 points and 12 rebounds for her 16th double-double of the season.
-Dickey currently ranks third in the country and first in the CAA in points per game (25.3) in addition to being third in the conference in both rebounds per game (9.5) and free throw percentage (.819).
-Battle is averaging a double-double (13.3 PPG and 10.9 RPG), leading the CAA in boards per game. She also ranks third in field goal percentage (.488).
-Delaware was named the preseason favorite alongside Drexel in the CAA preseason poll. Both Dickey and Battle were tabbed preseason all-conference first team honorees.
-The head coach of Delaware is Natasha Adair.

SCOUTING DREXEL
-Drexel (21-3, 13-1 CAA) is enters the week on a four-game win streak.
-In the Dragons' one-point win over Delaware, Keishana Washington scored a game-high 32 points for her third game with 30 or more points this season.
-Hannah Nihill scored 16 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists, and five steals. She has now logged three or more steals in six consecutive games.
-For her performance last week against James Madison and Delaware, Washington was named the CAA Player of the Week.
-The Dragons will face William & Mary on Feb. 25 prior to taking on the Phoenix.
-Reigning CAA Defensive Player of the Year Nihill and 2021 CAA Championship Most Outstanding Player Washington were selected preseason First Team All-Conference.
-The head coach of Drexel is Amy Mallon.
