Elon has a deep and talented stable of wide receivers to lean on in 2022, led by returning starters
Jackson Parham and
Chandler Brayboy.
Â
Parham, a senior, was named First Team All-CAA during the fall after catching 57 passes for 820 yards. Redshirt sophomore Brayboy started all 11 games last year, making 35 catches for 396 yards and grabbing three touchdowns as well.
Â
Senior
Bryson Daughtry was not technically a starter this past year (he does have seven career starts), he caught 35 passes for 512 yards and five touchdowns. He has played in 37 career games as well and has an active streak of 30 consecutive games with a reception dating back to 2018.
Â
Redshirt junior
Jordan Bonner and redshirt sophomore
Caleb Ogunmola add to the experienced depth. Bonner had 14 catches for 162 yards in 2021 and Ogunmola added four receptions for 39 yards. Redshirt sophomore
Trey West played in 10 games and junior
Christian Da-Silva, who has had a strong spring campaign, saw action in eight games during the 2021 fall campaign.
Â
Four more wide receivers gained valuable opportunity to develop in practice each day during the fall, including redshirt sophomore
Davis Wilder along with redshirt freshmen
Julian Bumper,
Charlie Mill and
Jamarien Dalton.
Â
Elon has added a handful of wide receivers for spring ball in redshirt junior
Cornell Hendrick Jr. and redshirt freshmen
Cole Schilling,
Dylan Lepore and
Jose Cabrera III.
Landyn Backey has signed with the Phoenix and will join the program for the fall.
Â
"This is a fun group to coach and to be around," Wide Receivers Coach
Chris Young said. "As a unit, we want to refine our skills and knowledge of the offense. I am excited to see guys develop and create even more competition in the wide receiver room this spring. We should have at least eight guys who can play meaningful snaps for us with very little, if any, drop off."
